About

Hello and welcome to The Journeys of a Tutor, brought to you by the wonderful Personal Goal Setting (PGS) tutors of Schoolhouse!

Would you like to learn more math? Gain access to a greater attendance rate? Open the door to more tutoring opportunities? If so, then I'd like to offer you a way to achieve all of that and more!

It’s a known fact that Pre-Algebra sessions have low learner attendance rates. As a result, Pre-Algebra tutors often schedule sessions, only for nobody to come! In order to address this issue, the Personal Goal Setting (PGS) project is hosting this event to provide you, Pre-Algebra tutors, with all the tools and knowledge you will need to tutor others in Algebra 1. By tutoring Algebra 1 topics, you all as tutors may gain higher attendance rates in your sessions!

If the prospect of an enhanced future interests you, please do join us as we journey together through the world of Algebra 1!

Class days: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays

Note: This series will last until all of Algebra 1 has been covered and fully understood. Sessions are updated every 2 weeks following this schedule.

✋ ATTENDANCE POLICY

Hey there! I'm Joe, a college freshman with a strong passion for math, computer science, and education. I have been homeschooled all the way through high school and currently reside in Oregon, USA. I'm glad to be a part of this wonderful community! I'm here to learn what I don't know and teach what I do know! I can tutor in any math topic ranging from pre-algebra to calculus, with a particular enthusiasm for geometry and trigonometry. I scored 790 on the Math section of the SAT, so I'm equipped to help with SAT Math prep as well. In addition to being a tutor here at Schoolhouse, I serve as a Geometry Subworld Moderator and a Tutor Coach. I was previously an SAT Bootcamp Guide and a member of the Welcoming Team. For fun I enjoy computer programming, keeping up with tech innovations, playing chess, solving Rubik's Cubes, stargazing with my refractor telescope, playing pickleball, and hiking the scenic trails of Oregon. I look forward to working with you!
