About Subworld

To learn Geometry together! Geometry is one of the most visual and proof-based types of mathematics.
If you ever have any questions or ideas to benefit the subworld, please feel free to reach out to the subworld moderators!

For learners:
  • Feel free to use the questions channel and request zoom help! Please try to attach pictures of your questions, as providing visuals to tutors makes it much easer for them to help.
  • Check out the sessions channel! There's a lot of great homework help sessions and Geometry courses to get started with.

For tutors:
  • Visuals are key! While teaching, be sure to include diagrams and drawings. Desmos graphing calculator and the zoom whiteboard are both great ways to easily draw while teaching. Desmos is more algebra-based (can be used for equations of circles, etc.) whereas the zoom whiteboard provides an easy way to quickly draw a variety of shapes.
  • The most in-demand Geometry topic is typically proofs, although it depends on the time of year. Proofs are usually different from other items in the Geometry curriculum, so simplifying with informal language and examples can help!

As always, the Geometry subworld is a safe space for everyone to learn and teach Geometry together. Please keep all posts appropriate. Thank you! :)

Guidelines

  • Be respectful. Everyone is at different points in their learning, and it is important to be aware of that. Please be kind to all in the subworld :)
  • When answering questions, please react with a 👀 emoji to avoid confusion and show that the learner is receiving help.
  • Active learning is key! Please do not give away the answer - guiding learners towards the solution will benefit more than immediately providing a solution.
