About

Exemplary: Understanding Model Systems in Biology aims to cover extremely fundamental concepts in biology using model systems. The series will uniquely be drop-in and highly accelerated. One concept will be covered over three to four sessions with increasing complexity and difficulty: starting with AP biology level systems and ending with advanced college course-level understanding. Exemplary is excellent for those with existing knowledge in biology and those looking to pursue a career in biology; knowledge gained will give learners advantage up to junior year of college. The curriculum is heavily inspired by high-level college courses.

Exemplary is taught by Jonathan O, a biochemistry researcher with first-author publication and 1,000+ hours of research experience. He scored a 5 on AP biology and AP chemistry his freshman year by self-studying, and has taken two years worth of credits for the Molecular Biology/Biochemistry track at a T30 university. More info can be found in his schoolhouse profile.

About the Tutor

I'm a high school senior from Illinois. I work as a biochemistry researcher and have presented my first-author research at undergraduate research symposiums. I specialize in enzymology with a focus on in vitro kinetics assay characterization and serve as my lab's technical advisor on kinetics assays. I scored a 5 on AP biology and AP chemistry self-studying as a freshman, am an AIME qualifer, scored 1550+ SAT, perfect PSAT, and also have two years worth of credits through dual enrollment each for computer science (T10 university) and molecular biology. I enjoy quizbowl (top 10 nationally) and tennis. Here to help with everything STEM.
