About

Running out of time? Keep getting stuck because every problem looks too much like Calculus? Thinking to yourself "There must be more that this $100 calculator can do besides simple operations and graphing"? This series is for you! In these sessions, we'll cover all of the nuanced SAT Math hacks you won't find in the CollegeBoard's review guides, and that high-scoring test-takers use to maximize accuracy and minimize confusion and time spent. This includes (but is not limited to): ✅ Simple tricks that will save you valuable minutes on even the most complex quadratic equations questions! ✅ The method of "solving for the expression," and how it can eliminate hassle from systems and linear equations! ✅ The value of knowing the Pythagorean triples, and how you can use them to find the dimensions of any right triangle in seconds! We'll also dive into how you can use your graphing calculator to speed up and simplify your approaches to problems on Section 4! By the end of this series, you'll be able to: ⏩ Quicken your ability to tackle seemingly complex problems on the SAT without losing accuracy 🌐 Make better use of your calculator on problems where its use is permitted 💪 Build your confidence on the SAT by expanding your problem-solving toolkit! 🛑 PREREQUISITES: Please come prepared to each session with a writing utensil and scratch paper. A TI-84 Plus CE graphing calculator is recommended but not required. *Note for volunteer hours: A V, Crystal H, and Temitayo J are helping as moderators for this series and their service hours have been approved by the series host

About the Tutor

👋 I'm Owen! As a tutor on Schoolhouse, I take a tailored approach to helping you understand the material on your own terms, rather than following a rigid study plan--in other words, ask me anything, and I'll fully commit to clarifying your concerns and working toward your success! I'm a rising college freshman from New York. When I'm not tutoring or grinding out homework, I enjoy reading, running, listening to classical music, and playing Minecraft. Can't wait to meet you!
