About

Over the course of this series, we will learn about one of the most important concepts in Calculus: Integration. We will have lecture sessions in which I will discuss the Integration strategy and then end with practice problems. I will also assign optional homework(I highly recommend doing it as it will strengthen your understanding). The sessions will be 50-70 minutes for the most part. If there are time constraints, please let me know. Integration 1) Intro to Integrals: Definition of an Integral, Basic Integrals and Reverse Power rule 2) U-sub 3) Integration by Parts and Improper Integrals 4) Trig-products 5) Trig-sub and Quadratic Expressions 6) Partial Fraction Integration In order to understand the content, you should have a good grasp on limits, differentiation, Riemann Sums(helpful if you know them but I can go over them before we start Integration). Other than this, be ready to have lots of fun while learning an amazing section of math!! About Me: I am a rising senior. I took AP Calculus BC this past year with As. My favorite topic was integration so I am really excited to do this with everyone!

✋ ATTENDANCE POLICY

Please try not to miss more than 2 sessions in a row because you may fall behind in understanding. The sessions somewhat build off each other. If you absolutely need to, please let me know beforehand. I understand its summer vacation for some and you may be travelling, but let me know so I can review session for you.

Session 1

Orientation

We will introduce ourselves and go over the "Syllabus" for this course. We will play a fun ice breaker game at the end!!

Session 2

Integration and accumulation of change

We will start off with an introduction to Integration. If needed, I will go over Riemann Sums to give you an intuition behind integrals. After which, we will discuss common integrals and the reverse power rule. We will then finish with a few practice problems. I will also assign some homework so you can refresh the concepts before the next session.

Session 3

Integration and accumulation of change

We will go over any questions on homework. If we are not able to answer them all, I will schedule an Office Hours session. We will start off with a review the content from the last session: common integrals and reverse power rule. We will then move on to our next topic: Integration using U-sub, a very important technique that will make our lives much easier when it comes to integrals. Once again, we will finish with practice problems. I will also assign some homework so you can refresh the concepts before the next session.

Session 4

Integration and accumulation of change

We will go over any questions on homework. If we are not able to answer them all, I will schedule an Office Hours session. We will start with a review of U-sub. We will then move on to the topic of Integration by Parts. After our discussion, we will do a few practice problems and then move on to Improper integrals. At the end we will do practice problems for this topic as well. I will also assign some homework so you can refresh the concepts before the next session.

Session 5

Integration and accumulation of change

We will go over any questions on homework. If we are not able to answer them all, I will schedule an Office Hours session. This session is a little longer because we will do more review of the last session's topics as there has been a more extended break in between sessions. After which we will move on to Trig-product. This technique will allow us to elegantly solve integrals with ugly trig function multiplications. We will finish with some practice problems. I will also assign some homework so you can refresh the concepts before the next session.
