About

This series will preview various essential concepts necessary for AP Calculus AB and BC. We will frequently engage in helpful practice problems to strengthen your knowledge, problem-solving capabilities, and familiarity with the content. By the end of this series, you will feel more than ready to enter your upcoming AP Calculus course! Below are the topics I am hoping to cover each week (I will gradually add the sessions to this series): Week 1: Orientation Week 2: Limits and Continuity Week 3: Differentiation Week 4: Integration Week 5: Parametric equations, polar coordinates, and vector-valued functions Week 6: Infinite series It would also be preferable if you went into this series with a solid understanding of Precalculus, although that is not required. Differentiation: definition and basic derivative rules

We will explore the basic definition and rules of derivatives before moving into more its more advanced applications.

Contextual applications of differentiation

We will explore ways in which derivatives can be applied to real-world problems involving rates of change and learn about indeterminate forms and L’Hospital’s rule.

Integration and accumulation of change

We will explore the basic integration definitions and rules before moving into its more advanced applications.

Applications of integration

We will explore many applications of integration, from finding the area between curves to determining volume with cross-sections, the disc method, and the washer method.

Parametric equations, polar coordinates, and vector-valued functions

We will explore parametric functions, vector-valued functions, and polar curves using our applied knowledge of differentiation and integration.
