About
The Content
This series aims to cross the entirety of Algebra 2. Although essential theory will be mentioned and briefly explained, there will not be much introduction to the subject matter. Instead, the series will put an emphasis on the approaches needed to cope with various specific exercises. The difficulty of some exercises will exceed those from Khan Academy so as to reach the level of understanding required for some external exams.
Time
On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, for now, beginning at 8 pm EET (NOTE: from session 2 onward I will begin the meetings at 9 pm as it just is the case that more learners are able to attend a bit later). Based on who joins in the initial sessions I will try to adapt to a different hour if it suits you better.
Length and Span
All the sessions are going to be 2 hours long, where in the first hour and a half the dedicated material and exercises will be covered and the rest (of which the more, the better) I suggest be spent in solving some exercises which you might find challenging or alternatively do chapter quizzes together.
I am planning the series to be about a month-long but based on learners' acquisition of the material, it may vary. It is long but if you stick with me, we could achieve a lot together.
Merit for the series
The prerequisite for studying Algebra 2 is of course having a good understanding of Algebra 1 and a good grasp of functions and graph analysis (but nothing too crazy). As already mentioned, it will be a more practical series so the concepts of Algebra 2 will not be gradually introduced.

As this is the first session of the Algebra 2 series, I will begin by briefly introducing myself and the course overview. I encourage you to introduce yourself too as an initial icebreaker.
After that, you will go through the approaches to solving rational and radical equations (square and cube root) as well as gain a better grasp of the idea of solutions to equations. We will leave the equations' graphical representation for the next session.
Additionally, I will try to spare the last 30 minutes for any example problems you may bring about or alternatively for solving course challenges or other unit exercises.
Before the meeting, I will publish a form featuring 3 exercises of the type we will cover in the session. If you decide you may take a look at them to see if you have some harder ones in mind or whether you need a more thorough explanation.

This session
This session is a continuation of the previous one about equations. This time I will prepare more difficult exercises and word problems. We will also effectively complete this unit by adding in the functionality of graphs in helping us solve equations.

This session will serve as a continuation of the previous one about the graphical representation of equations. Now we will have to analyze word problems and come up with certain mathematical conclusions like periodicity, inequalities, and some exponents. Although by this point we will not have studied exponential models, there are some exercises that feature 'compound-interest' type problems so I will also present this formula (which I presume you have at some instant seen before).
To understand these you of course need good foundational knowledge of functions.

This session will explore the difficulties you could face when coming across equivalent representations of expressions (by using exponents and radicals) and it will also touch upon exponential equations towards the end of the session. I hope we will be able to cover the material earlier so as to solve some exercises from Khan Academy on the spot.
Make sure you have a solid understanding of powers of numbers as well as radicals. Their properties will be revised, but you need to have some intuition about them to move on with the exercises.

As a start of this session, we will look at some more challenging exponential equations, as they appear in many exam problems. They are key to solving modeling problems.
Then we will progress on to modeling exponential functions. A greater understanding of exponential functions will be achieved, featuring word exercises that will become more challenging as little pieces of information here and there may influence the course of the entire exercise.
For those that may ask, no, this session will not include any reference to Euler's number (e). This will be touched on in the next session though.

In Session 6 we will proceed to Logarithms - the reverse of exponents. We will understand the notation, constraints and properties of logarithms and then move on to solving exercises which will include evaluating logarithms and simplifying. We will potentially reach the change of base formula so that only logarithmic equations are left for next time.
This session expects that you have grasped well the methods in solving exponential equations as well as interpreting data from word problems and graphs.

In this session the logarithmic equations will be revised and elaborated on, perhaps featuring some more difficult exercises that those found in Khan Academy. We will become more proficient with using the change of base rule as well. Furthermore, we will look at some word problems revolving around exponential modeling.
As long as you have attended the last session or otherwise are confident in your abilities to manipulate logarithms, you don't need further preparation for this session.
