About

೭੧(❛▿❛✿)੭೨ Everything you need to know to get an A in your class and a 5 on the exam ೭੧(❛▿❛✿)੭೨ Hi everyone! This series is great for anyone who is planning to take AP Biology next year. AP Biology covers a lot of material and is ranked as one of the hardest AP courses, so getting a head start on the material will definitely help you do well in the class and on the exam. The material covered in this series is based on the AP® Biology Course and Exam Description from College Board (https://apcentral.collegeboard.org/media/pdf/ap-biology-course-and-exam-description.pdf). We've just finished going over Unit 1 of the AP Biology curriculum and are now moving on to Unit 2 (Unit 3 sessions will be posted soon!). Here are the topics that are covered in Unit 2 (Cell Structure and Function): - 2.1: Cell Structure: Subcellular Components - 2.2: Cell Structure and Function - 2.3: Cell Size - 2.4: Plasma Membranes - 2.5: Membrane Permeability - 2.6: Membrane Transport - 2.7: Facilitated Diffusion - 2.8: Tonicity and Osmoregulation - 2.9: Mechanisms of Transport - 2.10: Cell Compartmentalization - 2.11: Origins of Cell Compartmentalization Below are some resources to help you prepare for the AP Biology exam: - Campbell Biology (textbook): I mainly used this resource to study for the AP Biology exam. There are many editions of this textbook (I personally used the 11th edition), but they all cover the content tested on the AP Biology exam. - Khan Academy: https://www.khanacademy.org/science/ap-biology - Fiveable: https://library.fiveable.me/ap-bio - Amoeba Sisters (YouTube channel): https://www.youtube.com/@AmoebaSisters - Crash Course Biology: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL3EED4C1D684D3ADF - Bozeman Science: https://www.bozemanscience.com/ap-biology - Albert.io: https://www.albert.io/ap-biology (note: this site has a lot of great AP Biology practice questions but requires a paid subscription in order to use the resource) How I studied for AP Biology: I learned most of the content covered by reading and taking notes from the Campbell biology textbook. I also learned through class lectures and watching YouTube videos on topics that I was confused on. I reviewed for the AP exam by using the Princeton AP Biology review book and by taking a lot of practice tests. I took this course two years ago, scored a 5 on the AP exam, and have been tutoring other students at my school on AP Biology since then. I also took high school biology three years ago and IB Biology HL (year 2 of IB Biology) last year.
