About

The goals for this series is to help you master the key skills taught in Year 8 English Language Arts. I want you to take away mastery of the skills mentioned above for a Year 8 English Language Arts course. The following skills will be covered in the series: -Character -Setting -Structure -Narration -Figurative language -Literary argumentation -Rhetorical situation -Claims and evidence -Reasoning and organisation -Style You are expected to participate as often as you can. Proficiency in lower-level English courses is needed for the course.

Tutor Qualifications

I got an A average in 8th grade English Language Arts and A+ averages in 9th, 10th, and 11th grade English and am currently taking AP English Language and Composition

✋ ATTENDANCE POLICY

You will be withdrawn from the series if you have more than 8 unexcused absences within each 10-week period. You can always make up an absence by requesting and attending a catchup session, or correctly completing the assignment from that session, if there were any.

About the Tutor

I am a high school senior. I have a passion for computer science, astrophysics, and history. I am joining Schoolhouse to be able to share some of my knoweldge with others who need it the most, while at the same time trying to get help in areas I need help in as well. Science education in the U.S. is really dumbed down and slow, so I taught myself some advanced topics for an 11th grader thanks to how accessible all this information is nowadays, especially Khan Academy! I speak English, Spanish (somewhat fluent), and French (somewhat fluent).

We will assess all the writing skills from section 1.1 by writing a Personal Progress Check unguided essay, Day 2. I will check over your essay once you're finished and give you some tips and notes on how to improve it for the future. I will DM you the revised essay in 3-7 business days.
