About

These series will be centered around learning to multiply and factor quadratic expressions. We will follow the Khan Academy curriculum for the Algebra 1 Quadratics unit and aim to achieve mastery in each of the 9 skills.

By the end of this series, you will be able to factor equations such as 48−24x+3x248-24x+3x^2

 and expand expressions like (2+7x)(2−7x)(2+7x)(2-7x)

Quadratics: Multiplying & factoring

In this session, you'll learn all about binomials, from what they are to how we can multiply them together. Additionally, I'll also go over special products of binomials. At the end, we'll play an interactive game or start the intro to factoring lesson for the next session.

Quadratics: Multiplying & factoring

In this session, I'll cover factoring. I'll go over the basics of what factoring is and show plenty of examples as well. To conclude the session, I will foreshadow what we'll be doing next week.

Quadratics: Multiplying & factoring

In this session, we'll learn how to factor quadratics in special forms, when the coefficient is equal to 1, and lastly factoring completely with a common factor.

Quadratics: Multiplying & factoring

We'll learn and practice factoring quadratics by grouping and difference of squares! This session will mainly be used for practice.

Quadratics: Multiplying & factoring

To conclude our series, we'll take the unit test to achieve mastery in this unit. If necessary, I will cover strategies in order to factor quadratics.
