About

In this series we'll learn how to solve the 3x3 Rubik's cube using the CFOP method and use different techniques to get faster. We will cover topics such as reading a scramble of the Rubik's cube, solving a good intuitive cross and F2L, memorizing algorithms in the last layer, and more. I look forward to solving with you this summer! Only prerequisite is having a 3x3 Rubik's cube to use during sessions!

Tutor Qualifications

I know the CFOP method for solving the 3x3 Rubik's cube, and I've been speed cubing as a hobby for 2 and a half years. I average around 20 seconds.

✋ ATTENDANCE POLICY

Attend as much as possible. I will be building on past sessions, so to have the best possible experience in learning how to solve the Rubik's cube well, I would recommend attending all sessions.

I'm excited to be a tutor here! In my free time I like to speed cube, play piano, and learn coding. I'm a high school graduate taking a gap year, and I'm hoping to tutor a lot more math and learn about computer science!

Orientation

In this session we will be getting oriented and getting to know each other! We also will examine how to read the moves of the Rubik's cube and learn the beginner's method to solving it, so it can serve as a foundation for the rest of the series.

This is just a catch up session for those who need to learn the rest of the beginner's method :) We'll try to review, learn solving the edges and learn solving the last layer.

This is another catchup session is for anyone who needs help with the second layer (solving the edges.) We'll try to get to the third layer if possible. If not, we'll try to get to the third layer next week :)
