About

Are you stressed about applying to college? Overwhelmed? Because of my own stress about college, I've done so much research about what colleges want, financial decisions, and the application process. I want to share this information with you so that you can spend less time researching and more time d͟o͟i͟n͟g͟. These sessions will be quick and easy ways to learn about applying to college so you can start planning or starting your own application with ease. So, don't worry! We will go through preparing for college applications, the application process, and the cost of college (with a little bit of applying to schools outside the US as well). This is for students from early middle school to incoming seniors thinking about college. Basically everyone is welcome (even you international students)!

Tutor Qualifications

I'm an incoming senior and I've done a lot of research on colleges and the application process for myself. I am currently going through the application process so this is my point of view! This is everything I have learned from my own research through Ivy League students, "normal" students, and admissions officers opinions.

✋ ATTENDANCE POLICY

Come to any session you want. Attendance is not strict at all! For example, if you're an incoming senior and you only want to learn about the application itself, just come to the All About Applications session.

About the Tutor

Hello! I'm a college sophomore and I love most things science. I'm here to have fun and help out!✌️ I love listening and playing music, drawing, watching movies and anime, doing chemistry, and reading sci-fi books. I have probably heard way too many genres of music and am definitely a massive nerd. Feel free to DM me if you want to talk about anything: ranting, art advice, need someone to talk to, just finished a show and need to vent. I'm happy to be of service :)

Session 8

College Advice

Creating a College List! This is great for juniors to seniors. It is one of the longest parts of the application process which requires a lot of research and often personal counseling guidance. College will take up a lot of your life so it is important to learn how to make informed decisions. We will walk through creating a general list (15-20+) of colleges with different websites (CollegeVine, BigFuture). From there, we will narrow the list down into 6-12 colleges based on different priorities (cost, education quality, location, etc). You will learn how to create a balanced list to get the most out of your application. It will be a very interactive and fun session! Really important for international students especially to avoid falling into the prestigious/expensive college trap.
