About

We will be going over and learning the fundamental math concepts that I followed to get a 780 on my SAT last March. I will go over resources, problems, concepts, and more in order to get you ready for the SAT Math section for the August test. Also, be prepared to do work outside of these sessions, the more work you put in the better you will feel on test day. We will be taking practice tests during some sessions.

✋ ATTENDANCE POLICY

Please do not miss more than two sessions, and only if you absolutely need to. I will not be strict about attendance because it is your choice to attend the sessions, but if you do miss a session I will not be holding up everybody else for you, so we will have to see if we can set up a session to help get you caught up. Please message me if you are missing a session.

About the Tutor

I'm a high school student from Ohio, and I hope to help other people with topics they are struggling with. I keep a very rigorous class schedule consisting of 5 ap classes and 2 honors classes, but I also enjoy doing other activities to help me cool down! I especially love to mountain bike, run, and play the piano. I am also a part of the high school science olympiad team, and I love to build anything from planes to rockets. As part of the track and cross country teams, I have a really booked schedule and can relate with many other juniors who are juggling their own high school events. I have used Khan Academy whenever I need a quick explanation of something or just a few practice problems, so I look forward to being able to give back and help others!

We will be going over a little about myself as well as an overview of the test and the plan for the following sessions. It will most likely take less than an hour, but I scheduled the extra time just in case I talk too much :).

SAT Math

First, we will talk about the different key concepts that will be on the SAT Math portion, and then we will take a timed SAT math section so that we have a base to start off with.

Today we will be talking about the foundations including using fractions, isolating variables, solving equations, substitution, factoriing and distributing, combining like terms, and how to deal with unknown variables in the denominators.

Today we will finish slope-intercept form, learn standard form, and start looking at systems of equations.

Today we will go over linear relationships and how to solve them. We will also go over function notation and slope-intercept form and how you can manipulate them to answer different questions.
