About

Welcome to geometry start to finish! In this series, we will be going over each of the concepts listed in "High school geometry" in Khan Academy. This series would be great for anyone wanting to review geometry or are taking it soon!

Session 1

Orientation

Welcome! In this series, we will be doing some icebreakers to get to know a bit about each other. Then, I will be going over the concepts we will be learning along with the series schedule.

Session 2

Performing transformations

Getting started with geometry, we will talk about how to perform transformations on a coordinate plane!

Session 3

Office Hours

OPTIONAL (NOT APART OF ATTENDANCE POLICY) Office hours for anyone who missed the first two sessions!
16
Jul

Session 4

Transformation properties and proofs

Adding onto what we already learned about transformations, we will be solving problems regarding the properties of transformations and proofs!
17
Jul

Session 5

Congruence

In this session we will be going over congruency and how it relates to transformations. Then, we will discuss triangle congruency postulates!

Session 6

Congruence

In this session we will be going over congruency and how it relates to transformations. Then, we will discuss triangle congruency postulates!
21
Jul

Session 7

Similarity

We will finish up the congruency unit by learning about two-column proofs. Then, we will get started on similarity.
23
Jul

Session 8

Right triangles & trigonometry

Finish similarity and start on the pythagorean theorem!
24
Jul

Session 9

Right triangles & trigonometry

Finishing trigonometry!

Session 10

Quadrilaterals

In this session, we will learn about quadrilaterals' properties (rhombus, square, rectangle, parallelogram, and kite) and work on various proofs. If there is time, we will start on analytic geometry.

Session 11

Analytic geometry

We will be discussing analytic geometry and geometry on a coordinate plane!
3
Aug

Session 12

Office Hours

In this session we will do extra practice on any topics you want to work on (that we have already covered). Come in with your geometry questions!

Session 13

Conic sections

First 40 minutes will be spent finishing analytic geometry (area on a coordinate plane, word problems, parallel and perpendicular lines). Then, we will get started on comic sections (circles, ellipses, hyperbolas, and parabolas).
7
Aug

Session 14

Circles

Finishing conic sections and getting specific with circles.
13
Aug

Session 15

Solid geometry

For the first 45 minutes, we will be finishing the "circles" unit. After that, we will learn about the transition from 2D to 3D figures... solid geometry! I will then assess where we are and decide if we need to schedule another session to finish this. If so, our series will be ending next week.

Session 16

Solid geometry

Solid geometry- 3D shape time! We will learn about cross sections, Cavalieri's principle, volume, surface area, and density.

Session 17

Review

LAST SESSION! We will play review quizziz games! I will also refer you to extra practice to help with your geometry skills.
