About

Hey!! My name is Caroline and I’m a high school junior (grade 11) from the US. Preparing for the SAT is rough, and I hope I can make the process a bit easier. This is my first “official” tutoring gig, but I’m also a teaching assistant for AP US History -- overall, I'm super excited! I took SAT classes as well, so much of my methods as a tutor will come from my experiences being in your shoes. This will involve learning shortcut formulas, getting exposure to common difficult problems/easier ways of solving, and practicing during sessions and on your own. This includes optional homework! The topics covered in each session will be dependent on your suggestions and the results of the previous session, and I will do my best to tailor this experience to your needs, while still covering all of the necessary content.

This four-week tutoring series will help you prepare for your upcoming SAT in Math. By the end of the series, you will have completed multiple practice tests and worked through a number of problems from previous SATs, helping you build confidence for your upcoming exam. You’ll spend each session with me and a small group of other learners who are also working towards taking the SAT. Since it’s a small group, you can expect sessions to be very interactive as you work together towards improving your SAT skills as much as you can! Note: Cameras should be on so we can all get to know each other! If you have a specific reason why you can’t have your camera on, please notify me ahead of time.

✋ ATTENDANCE POLICY

Please do not miss more than one session over the four weeks, as that will negatively affect your learning and may also take up a spot from another learner who could have attended every session.

Message your tutor if you have an extenuating circumstance and must miss a session. If you have two unexcused absences, your tutor may remove you from the bootcamp series.

Session 1

SAT Math

For our first session, we will start with an orientation, which will include introductions, attendance policies, and expectations/housekeeping rules. We will also go over what content is covered in the exam, and the exam format. Then, we’ll take a practice exam (no calculator section). Afterwards, we will review the exam and work through the most missed questions and any you’d like to go over. I will also ask for the topics that have been the most challenging overall so I can plan our next session accordingly.
