About

Hello everyone, my name is Sophia, I'm a junior in high school and I took the SAT back in October. A couple quick things about me, my favorite math subject is Geometry, I play piano, bassoon, and guitar, and in my free time, I like to bake and volunteer at a local horse barn! I'm really excited to help you all out with the SAT Math sections and I think with a few tips and tricks, you'll find it can be really fun - or at least feel like you pulled off an amazing feat. Can't wait to meet you! This three-week tutoring series will help you prepare for the upcoming June SAT in Math. By the end of the series, you will have completed multiple practice tests and worked through a number of problems from previous SATs, helping you build confidence for your upcoming exam. You’ll spend each session with me and a small group of other learners who are also working towards taking the SAT in June. Since it’s a small group, you can expect sessions to be very interactive as you work together towards improving your SAT skills as much as you can! Note: Cameras should be on so we can all get to know each other! If you have a specific reason why you can’t have your camera on, please notify me ahead of time.

✋ ATTENDANCE POLICY

Please do not miss more than one session over the three weeks, as that will negatively affect your learning and may also take up a spot from another learner who could have attended every session.

About the Tutor

Hi everyone, my name is Sophia, and I’m a college sophomore from Pennsylvania, double majoring in music education and mathematics. In high school I took AP Calculus AB and BC, AP Physics 1, and AP Music Theory, as well as a few others. When I’m not playing my piano, bassoon, or guitar, I can be found reading, cooking, volunteering at my local horse barn, or binge-watching Star Trek! I love to learn and get that "eureka" moment, and I’m really excited to help others do the same. Can’t wait to meet you all!

We’ll take a 55-minute practice exam (calculator section). We will then start to review the exam and learn from our mistakes.

We’ll continue to review the previous practice exam. Afterwards, we will cover more topics that have been the most challenging to learners in this series so far.

SAT Math

In this session, we’ll do an 80-minute practice exam (both the no calculator and calculator sections). This will simulate the full math section of the SAT and will be great practice for your upcoming SAT.

Session 7

SAT Math

In this session, we’ll review the previous practice exam and learn from our mistakes. I’ll then discuss some final tips in preparation for your SAT exam!
