About

Greetings to all tutors! This series is designed for us to gather once a week, exchange ideas about tutoring learners, and offer constructive feedback to each other. We will have a chance to make new friends and form friendships within the pre-algebra community. If you are a beginner tutor looking for some tips before starting to teach, do not hesitate to join us. This program is similar to tutor learning circles but is specifically tailored for pre-algebra tutors. Keep in mind that additional sessions will be added in the near future. I'm super excited to see you there! :)

My name is Liya and I'm a middle school student from Maryland who likes to paint, write (Working on a novel!!), read (Currently reading Show Me A Sign), and bake (I need more tips on how to make pastry cream, last time . . . it was a mess) in my free time. I'm a member of the Schoolhouse Scholars Guild and the Welcoming Team. I am a student leader at my school district (Working with SMOB) and a major Potterhead ⚡ Super excited to be a part of Schoolhouse!

Orientation

Hello fellow tutors! In this session, we'll get to know each other by playing a game, and start out the meeting by discussing some tips we have for other tutors, problems we came across during the past week of tutoring, and how we handled them, and provide constructive feedback to each other. We'll then end the session by sharing what we would like to see in future sessions. I'm really excited to see you there!!!
