About

This is a fast-paced series centered on completing the entire curriculum of the AP Calculus AB course. Every session will be about 90-120 mins, and expect to go over practice problems on the topics, with some optional homework to complete as well.

✋ ATTENDANCE POLICY

You will be withdrawn from the series if you miss any session that covers content. If you have to be absent, please let me know beforehand.

Currently, the session is on F, Sat., and Sun. with times subject to change (will announce in group chat)

Orientation

We will go over the course outline and what we will cover and look over the AP Calculus AB Course and Exam Description (CED). We will not go over any content on this day, but will see what kinds of topics will be taught in this course along with key aspects to know for the actual exam.

Limits and continuity

In this first real session, we will go over the topic of limits and continuity including the key concepts, theorems, and ideas within it. We will also go over practice problems to help solidify understanding through Khan Academy and external resources. Note: this session will be a little longer due to the large amount of content.

Differentiation: definition and basic derivative rules

In this next session, we will go over the topic of basic differentiation, including the key concepts, rules, and formulas that are significant in this unit. We will also go over practice problems to help solidify understanding through Khan Academy. Note: this session will be a little longer than the usual 90 minutes.

Differentiation: composite, implicit, and inverse functions

In this next session, we will go over differentiation part two, which includes composite, implicit, and inverse functions! We will also learn about the chain rule and apply it using practice problems through Khan Academy.

Contextual applications of differentiation

In this next session, we will go over the first part of applications of derivatives, which is applying them contextually. In this session, we will go over related rates, interpreting a derivative, and more, and do practice problems!

Applying derivatives to analyze functions

In this next session, we will go over the second and final part of applications of derivatives, which is applying them to an analytical application. In this session, we will explore the topics of relative extrema, concavity, and more and do practice problems! After this session, we will be done with derivatives! Note: this session will be a little longer.

Integration and accumulation of change

In this session, we will go over unit 6, which is the introduction to integration (formally "Integration and Accumulation of Change"). In it, we will discuss the definition of an integral along with concepts like Riemann Sums, the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus, definite integrals, and interpreting them as well! In this session, we will not cover any AP Calculus BC topics. Note: this session will be a little longer, as there is a lot of content.

In this session, we will go over unit 7, which is differential equations! In this session, we will discuss differential equations, slope fields, and separation of variables! This session will not cover any AP Calculus BC topics.

Applications of integration

In this session, we will go over unit 8, which is applications of integration. In this unit, we will discuss the various applications of integration such as finding the average value of a function, particle motion, cross sections, and revolutions using the disk and washer method! In this session, we will not go over any AP Calculus BC topics. Note: this session will be a little longer (120 minutes)

Review

In this session, we will go over everything we have learned in a span of a 90 minutes from this entire series. I will try my best to accurately show everything that will be taught in AP Calculus AB, or an introductory calculus course and everything that has been taught in the series.
