What is an MUN and Why Participate? For those new to the concept, MUN stands for Model United Nations, where participants take on the roles of country representatives to tackle real-world global issues. MUNs are an amazing way to build skills in public speaking, negotiation, and critical thinking while exploring international relations. Through this series, we aim to bring you a dynamic and educational experience, allowing you to participate in meaningful debates and make impactful resolutions. Committee Agendas: - UNSC: Addressing the Crisis in Afghanistan: Security and Humanitarian Solutions - INTERPOL: Countering Human Trafficking and Modern Slavery - SOCHUM: The Global Refugee Crisis: Ensuring Protection and Integration - DISEC: Reducing the Threat of Biological and Chemical Weapons - WHO: Global Health Security: Preparedness for Future Pandemics Each committee will have six committee sessions across the event, where delegates will work through discussions, debates, collaborative resolution drafting, and voting processes. These committee sessions will run for about an hour each, giving delegates the chance to develop thoughtful solutions while working alongside peers. How to Participate: 1. Register for the Main Series to join the Opening and Closing Ceremonies, Training Sessions. 2. Complete the [Committee Preference Form](https://forms.gle/B2PvZixnkxSyF4PM7) to select your preferred committee. 3. Get assigned to your committee and receive access to Committee Background Guides, Rules of Procedure, and the official MUN Brochure. 4. Register for your specific committee's series. 5. Prepare by reading the background guides, trainings, attending the training session, researching your committee’s agenda, and familiarizing yourself with the issue as well as your country's stance on it. 6. Attend and participate in the conference, engaging in discussions, drafting resolutions, and collaborating on innovative solutions. Delegates who participate in minimum three sessions will receive a certificate of participation, with certificates of excellence and awards rewarded to top delegates. Join us in this totally informative series as we attempt to write a full-length book over the course of _**AN UNSPECIFIED AMOUNT OF TIME**_! Sessions will include, alternate between, but not be limited to: - Informal Presentations of The Various Aspects of Plot Planning, - and WRITING SPRINTS!!!! We may not be able to guarantee that you'll have finished writing your book by the time this series comes to an end, but we certainly can guarantee that you'll at least have done something by the end of it. Note that this series will require a little bit of accountability in sharing book progress and (hopefully) lots of participation! (This series was meant to fill in the two months of Summer Camp 2024...but procrastination got the better of us yet again, so we're not sure when it will end by 🥲)

Welcome to a geometry series hosted by all the geometry moderators! Feel free to request a session anytime if we can help with homework, or anything Geometry related. We would love to help all the learners in this subworld as much as we can and would love to hear some feedback and answer questions subworld-specific as well. Whether you have a question about the subworld or about a specific geometry topic, we hope that this series can help provide answers! Each session, a moderator will be teaching a topic from HS geometry to prepare everyone for their geometry class the upcoming school year for some time, but most of the time, it will be quite interactive and we will answer general questions/doubts related to geometry that everyone asks (we will try our best with the order) to make sure each person gets something useful out of this series. This five-week series will function with a flipped classroom - meaning you'll learn topics in your own time, practicing and ask questions during the sessions. This series is designed to be very fast paced and learner-oriented, so expect to be active in sessions and dedicate some time to learning whenever it fits your own schedule! I will not be giving lectures. Communication through microphone is preferred, but I understand completely if you would rather use the chat. Sessions will be twice a week on Wednesdays and Sundays at 7:30 PM PT. The plan is to cover the AP Calculus AB curriculum by mid-August. If you plan on registering as a learner, please read the following: Outside sessions: - Watch videos and do Khan Academy practice problems - Write a problem and solution (this isn't nearly as hard as it sounds, don't fret!) During sessions: - We'll start off by checking in to see if there's any specific questions from learners - Learners will pick a topic from what we're covering that session and give a brief explanation, presenting their practice problem (other learners will try to solve it and give feedback on the problem) - We'll wrap everything up with some more practice problems! This can all sound very intimidating at first, but it'll get easier with practice! Welcome to the SHW Writing Competition. Me and a few other tutors hosted a similar series last summer, and after seeing how much fun that was, I’ve decided to keep it going! So, this summer, we’re back with another Writing Competition, with a few tweaks and changes. If you were a part of the competition last year, welcome back! I’m excited to see the stories you all come up with! This series is pretty self-explanatory, but basically, in this competition, all participants will write a short story regarding any topic and submit it using a Google Form. Yep, that's simple. This series is centered around giving you the motivation to write daily by getting together with other passionate writers. It is not required to share your work, although I would be happy to read it! There are no rules to what your project has to be! You may write anything from a novel to a movie script, in any genre you prefer. The goal of this series is simply to give you the motivation to start on your project! Hello! The goal of this series is to review core concepts in geometry, and focus on topics you are having trouble with. This series is good for a general review of geometry for your end of semester tests, or any homework you are having trouble with. Attendance is optional. We will meet twice a week, with each session being 1 hour long. The sessions will be dedicated to reviewing core concepts in Khan Academy's High School Geometry course. Throughout the rest of the session, I will answer any general geometry questions you have, go more in-depth with topics upon request, and attempt to provide a better understanding of geometry as a whole.
