There is clear and convincing evidence that the learners made significant progress throughout the session. From the beginning to the end of the session, the learners demonstrated a noticeable improvement in their understanding of the key concepts surrounding the angle addition identities. Initially, they had a general familiarity with the topic, but the session allowed them to deepen their understanding and apply their knowledge with more confidence and accuracy. At the start of the session, some learners appeared uncertain about the angle addition identities, and a few struggled to apply them correctly in simple examples. However, as the session progressed, their ability to solve problems involving these identities improved dramatically. This was particularly evident when learners, who initially found it difficult to recall the formulae or explain the process behind them, began to answer questions correctly and explain their reasoning clearly. Their increasing confidence in applying these identities was a clear indicator that they were internalizing the material. Throughout the session, there was a consistent shift from hesitation to assurance. For example, when first asked to apply the angle addition identity to a basic problem, some students were hesitant, but by the end, they were able to tackle more complex problems with multiple identities involved. Not only were they applying the identities correctly, but they were also able to break down the problems into manageable steps and approach them with a logical and methodical mindset. This development suggests that they were not simply memorizing formulas but were beginning to understand the underlying principles behind them. In addition to this improvement in their problem-solving skills, the learners also became more active participants as the session went on. In the earlier stages, many were quiet or uncertain about contributing, but as the lesson progressed, more learners started to ask questions and offer explanations. This shift in behavior is an important indicator of progress, as it reflects not only an understanding of the material but also a growing confidence in their ability to engage with it. By the end of the session, some learners who had been more passive were actively participating in discussions and even helping their peers understand difficult concepts. Moreover, the learners showed progress in their ability to collaborate with one another. By the middle of the session, students were seen discussing the material amongst themselves, comparing notes, and explaining concepts to each other. This peer-to-peer interaction is a strong sign of progress, as it demonstrates that the learners were not only understanding the material individually but were also able to help themselfs work through challenges. This collaborative atmosphere likely contributed to reinforcing their own understanding, as teaching and explaining concepts to others can deepen one's own grasp of the material. The learners' progress was also evident in their ability to solve problems with greater speed and accuracy. At the beginning of the session, they took time to work through the steps of applying the angle addition identities. By the end, however, they were solving problems more quickly, indicating not only a better grasp of the concepts but also an increased level of comfort with the material. The shift in both their speed and accuracy shows that they were processing the information more efficiently and had gained a better mastery of the concepts. There was also a clear improvement in their ability to apply the angle addition identities in more complex, unfamiliar problems. As you introduced new challenges that required learners to use the identities in combination with other trigonometric concepts, they were able to break down these problems into smaller steps and successfully solve them. This ability to tackle more complex problems with the same foundational knowledge demonstrates a deeper understanding and application of the material. Throughout the session, it was apparent that the learners were benefiting from the structure of the lesson, which included both direct instruction and opportunities for independent practice. The time you spent checking for understanding and offering additional explanations when needed allowed the learners to progress at their own pace, ensuring that no one was left behind. Your ability to adjust the lesson based on their responses - slowing down when necessary or providing more examples to clarify a point - was key in helping them make steady progress. While the learners made significant strides during the session, their progress could be further accelerated by continuing to reinforce the core concepts in future lessons. Repetition and consistent practice will help solidify their understanding and make it easier for them to apply the identities in more varied contexts. Additionally, providing more individualized feedback could help learners identify specific areas where they may need more practice or clarification. Overall, the evidence of progress in this session is clear. The learners demonstrated improved understanding, increased confidence, and a greater ability to solve complex problems independently. Their ability to engage with the material, collaborate with their peers, and tackle increasingly difficult questions is a strong indication that they are making significant strides in mastering the topic. The session was highly productive, and the learners are well on their way to developing a solid grasp of the angle addition identities in trigonometry.

You made strong efforts to engage learners by asking open-ended questions and prompting them to solve practice problems. You also frequently checked for understanding, which is crucial when working with complex topics like trigonometric functions. When learners struggled, you responded with tailored explanations and guided them through the thought process in a manner that encouraged self-discovery. The interactive problem-solving approach ensured that learners were actively involved throughout the session. The use of formative assessment was evident, with you regularly soliciting feedback from learners, whether through direct questioning or asking them to share their solutions. This was an excellent way to gauge learner comprehension and provide immediate clarification.

You do a very good job in practicing the "I do" and "We do" strategies! Throughout the session, you consistently ask the learners how they would approach certain problems, and break down difficult problems in a way that they can approach it more easily. However, even with difficult problems, you try and guide them through the answer in a way where you aren't giving them the full solution, but helping them reach the solution on their own. This is clearly a very beneficial method! Also, you try to cold-call on learners, making sure they have a chance to share their ideas and processes, which is definitely great. You are also very good at adding onto the ideas of learners as well, in a way where you sort of summarize their process so it is easier for the rest of your learners to understand. Overall, really good job and keep it up!

You do a very good job of creating a comfortable learning environment! Especially as you started the meeting, welcoming all your learners by name, connecting with them by making small talk, and asking if they had any questions, all clearly built a very welcoming and comfortable learning environment. You are also very encouraging during the teaching portion as well, regardless of whether a learner gets a question right or wrong!

I liked how you called on learners to solve problems their way on the questions by asking them to come off mute and solve the problem. This introduces a new POV and voice in solving a problem that could benefit the other learners. You also complimented their answers, like for an example saying that Max did well on an explanation considering that two answer choices were very close to each other and could be used interchangeably; "That's a really good point, Max. Good work." You also asked further questions while the learners answered questions, which helped learners further understand their thought process and follow along with their problem-solving. "Good! What about d." Here, you asked a student about another answer choice that they may have glanced over in their explanation, but by you asking them to further elaborate on their reasoning it helps them study better and helps other students follow along. Good job

I liked how you started your session with asking learners how they were! This allows you and the learners to engage a little and create comfortable bonds before the session. You also gave a little bit of an overview of the session before it started which I liked to give your learners some heads up before so there is no surprises. Another thing that I liked that you did was asking your learners about other topics that they may want covered. This allows you to customize and tailor your sessions towards them. I also liked how you started conversations before the session while you were waiting for learners to join by asking, "Have you guys done anything interesting lately?"

She adeptly tailored her approach to accommodate the new beginner student, offering a concise recap of the material covered in prior sessions. This not only proved beneficial for the newcomer but also for the current student, who appreciated the review. Throughout the session, she kept the learners actively engaged by posing questions at the conclusion of each section, ensuring comprehension and facilitating learning. To gauge their progress in an enjoyable manner, she incorporated interactive activities like Blooket, which served as both a practice tool and a means to reinforce newly acquired knowledge. These activities not only aid in student advancement but also infuse an element of fun into the learning process.

I admire your thoughtful approach in creating a comfortable and inclusive learning environment by taking the time to inquire about how the learner would like their name to be pronounced. I like how you clarified the learner's doubt about the calculations when the learner made a mistake during the interactive problem-solving process. When they stated that the sqrt(9) was not 3, you tried to rephrase the question and help the learner work through it.

You gave great explanations on the overview of the SAT and the domain of words in context to your learners by going in depth and giving examples of what a question from that domain may look like. This definitely helps them give an overview of what the skill is and if they may need help in it. You also were able to define all of the difficult vocab in your own words, which I thought was super helpful to the learners to not only learn SAT vocab but to recognize synonyms to the words and use the process of elimination with them.

“
Learners were attentive and responded when you called on them. They were actively learning and participating in the practice questions, and seemingly got all of them right, which is amazing. I liked how when they answered the question, you further elaborated on their answer in your own terms to help clarify anything to the learners, like repeating how that some words the learners may not know but can guess that they are or aren't correct based on the other answers, or by defining the vocab answer choices in your own words.

You started by asking the learner, "Do you understand what it means for a solution to be extraneous?" This question serves as an excellent starting point for assessing the learner's existing understanding of the topic. You engaged the learner in an interactive problem-solving approach. You guided the learner step by step through a sample problem. This hands-on approach helped them apply the concept reinforcing their understanding. These teaching methods facilitate a more engaging and informative learning experience.
