Math for the October 2023 SAT

Welcome! I'm currently fighting in a battle to stop skimming articles and texts I read online and I want to get better at tutoring in math. I scored a perfect on the SAT math section several months ago. My goal is to help you achieve a substantially higher math score because I believe it's possible and that it's worth pursuing. Let's hit the ground running. (I highly recommend, with every fiber in my body, doing a diagnostic SAT beforehand or using a past PSAT 10 / NMSQT to figure out your weaknesses, so we can maximize your time on learning, reviewing and practicing). NOTE: I am not going to stick to the curriculum given that much--I want to make the tutoring as much about what you specifically need. See you soon!

Commas, Semicolons, and Combining Sentences for Harjas C

A quick ice breaker, and a in-depth review of comma and semicolons usage and combining sentences questions. We'll review several examples and I'll give tips on how to quickly identify common sentence patterns. As part of the review we'll go over previous SAT grammar questions in those areas. Lastly, we'll do 2 practice SAT grammar sections, aiming for ~9 min for each test and then ~6 min review for each one.

SAT R&W Tutoring Day 1 for Sai Rithwik K

This session was created originally for Sai Rithwik K, but any learners who want to join us are welcome to join. This session is intended to help students in the 400-600 range for EBRW who plan on taking the August 26 SAT. We'll do an ice breaker to get to know each other and assess where everyone's at in terms of the SAT. We'll review strategies for reading passage comprehension, and come up with a list of specific topics, concepts and grammar rules that you want to work on. I'll go through the exam format for EBRW and we'll draft a study plan--we'll also look at some example study plans and how to fit in studying with other summer obligations. I'll recommend some important tasks to complete while starting the studying process, which will include sharing resources. At the end, if we have time we'll read a sample passage on our own and answer a few questions about it as a group.
