Yes, in the case of Alex I can really see that he began interacting with you, and started to really understand the material. I think, as you gave more examples of where specific concepts could be applied, your student began understanding even more.

The student was able to follow along with the lesson When they got an error or had a question, you were able to explain what had happened, and they understood how to fix the issue. This demonstrates that they could understand what you were teaching. When the student asked about printing something from anotherr file, you first tried to explain it again, and when they still didn't understand, you asked them to share their screen so that you could help them out, which was really great. A possible activity that you could add is giving student a quiz at the end of the lesson to ensure that they understood the material well.

I absolutely loved how you gave an introduction as to what Python is and how it is used! I can tell you know what you are talking about and have a deep understanding of the software!

The example for creating a list of users was a simple yet effective way to introduce lists to the student. It was great to see you break down the problem into simple steps and instructions that could easily be understood. Well done!

At the end of the session, a student said "thank you for teaching me. I learned a lot", which demonstrates that the students felt like they had made progress during the session.
