About

Hello there! I'm a book nerd, writer, double bassist, and dog lover from the US.

In my free time I like devouring every word Tolkien's ever written, writing queer fantasy (I've won a couple of writing contests and I hope to be a novelist one day), playing double bass, watching Star Trek: The Original Series (though I also enjoy Star Wars), and playing with my dog, Athena (my profile pic)!

Reach out if you ever need help with reading/writing. I'm really good at grammar stuff, and my goal is to one day rid the world of comma splices. I'd also be happy to talk over some classic lit or help you get through an argumentative essay!

Reading and Writing for the November 2024 SAT

Tuesdays 9:00 PM, Wednesdays 9:00 PM

Hello everyone! My name is Jane and I'm really excited that all of you are going to join my bootcamp. I'm a massive English nerd, and I look forward to helping you guys succeed on the SAT! Over the couple of weeks that we're going to be working together, we'll be going over essential skills—grammar rules and vocabulary for example— as well as individual questions to best prepare you for the SAT.

it was great to be a part of the learning

Thanks for the session…I was quite nervous starting it but you made it very comfortable!

Although this was a short session, you were able to accomplish your goal. You wanted to review the learner's first paragraph, which you did correctly. I loved how you were involved in the essay and asked for the essay's instructions. You provided grammar tips, mainly about apostrophes. Your learner wanted you to focus on her thesis statement, which you reviewed and approved! Since this is a reading/writing session, unlike math, there isn't much to teach, particularly in this session. But, I can see you are thorough with writing essays and grammar.

You made it easy to understand how to work through those "note-style" questions.
