There were many things that went well in the session! You did an excellent job of asking the learner if the new certain concepts before explaining it to them. For example, you asked if Bhavya knew the formula for one of the questions. Along with that, you did a great job of engaging the learner by constantly asking them to try solving the question and asking them how they might have got the answer. Additionally, toward the end of the session, you confirmed the learners' progress by providing questions from the unit test for a review of the entire unit. In the future, maybe try to check the learners' prior knowledge by creating practice problems that learners can solve before the start of the unit. Overall, nice work!

Good job greeting the learner by name. You were very accepting of mistakes, always remaining encouraging and supportive. You also did a great job of making the learner into more of a learning partner by presenting yourself as genuinely curious about her reasoning (as with the one early question about the height of a box). Taking an earnest interest in the learner's thought process shows respect, and helps you build a strong tutor-learner relationship. Excellent work!

You did a good job explaining though these topics. I think that making slides was a good way to engage learners! Additionally, using khan academy was also a great idea, to get access to various questions in topics. One of you seemed hesitant and unsure of a problem in the beginning, but that's basically the only flaw. Nice work overall!

You did a great job of giving the learner lots of questions to work on - with math, there is simply no substitute for practice! In working through those questions, I really liked how you did a great job of taking care to explain fundamental concepts (like rationalizing square roots); if you go through the material too quickly, it can be harder for some people to grasp, but you did a great job of checking to see if your learner was following along with each concept. Additionally, I liked how you got a sense of the learner's needs during the introduction, and used that to shape your lesson into a general, back-to-basics review of trig. In the future, you could try asking about specific concepts that learners want to review/learn, but for today, because you were just doing a general review, this approach worked quite well.
