Adnette, you did a nice job guiding the learner in this session. In this session, it looks like she wanted help determining a potential college major. It definitely takes active listening on your end to provide aid for these types of queries, and you employ that skill throughout this session. For example, when the learner told you about her YouTube channel, you suggested a major in digital marketing or something along those lines. You offer suggestions based primarily on the skills that the learner exhibits, which shows that you have her genuine interests at heart and want her to pursue something she'd excel at. I particularly liked your speech about rejection in the middle of the session; it was motivational and allowed the learner to understand the depth of her goals. Well done overall!

You do an effective job at checking the learner's prior knowledge by asking what majors she's already considering. Another important question that you ask is about her extracurriculars; this definitely helped guide the session towards finding the perfect major for the learner- one she'd excel in. You use the learner's responses to your initial questions to formulate even more specific guiding questions, which shows that you're adapting to the learner's needs and concerns. In this one-on-one session, you are able to maximize the potential of engaging the learner. Though this wasn't a session that had to do with specific practice problems, you are able to allow the learner to take the lead, as the discussion is about her aspirations and what she could potential major in in college. Finally, you check the learner's progress by asking if she has any final questions for you at the end of the session. That is sufficient for this type of session! Nicely done.
