The explanations were completely helpful.

I liked how you asked engaging questions such as "But what actually are those values? How can I? How can I find those values?" These questions have the learners take another step further to figure out how to solve the problem. You follow up on learners to confirm that they do not have any questions after the practice problems. This action shows that you care about the learners succeeding. Rather than taking over the lesson, you allow the learners to walk you through the practice problems! This is a great way to have learners engage in the session.

I liked how you used the annotation feature. I always suggest that tutors use this feature as it makes it easier for visual learners to understand the concepts you are trying to convey. The problems that you reviewed are all unique. This exposure to various kinds of practice problems allows the learners to understand the format of the SAT better. Additionally, they will be able to answer SAT questions better as a result of your series! I liked how you wrote out the equations that you utilized to answer the problems. For instance, you wrote out the cylinder equation for Question 16. This action shows the learners the exact steps you used to solve the problem. I liked your Soh Cah Toa trick! This tip always make it easier to memorize tricky trigonometry formulas. The ideas you explain are clear and easy to understand. Keep up the great work!

Learner · 2 mo. ago

Yes, he keeps a very safe and comfortable learning environment! The interactions are safe and appropriate, the learner doesn't feel shy to speak out or ask a question, and both the learner and Dhruv are able to work off of one another to problem-solve as a team, which I feel is a very important quality to have, especially as a tutor. I like how, again, Dhruv asks questions to the learner to ensure that the learner doesn't feel as though they aren't being included in the conversation, or that they're opinion doesn't matter. This is a very effective approach towards tutoring, and I feel that Dhruv did a great job with this quality!

They did help me learn more methods of utilizing DESMOS but also gave me a variety of forumlas to remember and helped me figure out when I would want to do things properly or use the calculator.

Learner · 2 mo. ago

Thanks for the session

Learner · 2 mo. ago

The tutor asked the learner on how they did the question and keep taking their insight on the problem which was one of the effective ways of engaging learner for "I do" strategy. Moreover, when they solved it together, the tutor engages all learners by asking short questions on whether they are understanding and forced them to repeatedly think upon it.

Tutor · 2 mo. ago

The session was begun very well where the tutor confirms the progress on the test they may have assigned. The way they proceeded with the questions, for example, question 1 where they used desmos to visualize the equation and also solved it algebraically was really an effective explanation. In the other questions too, his way of solving the questions and showing the visuals using diagrams were amazing. Good Job!

Tutor · 2 mo. ago

The session was interactive, and he articulates his ideas very clearly!

Learner · 2 mo. ago

really great explanations

Learner · 2 mo. ago

It's clear that your learners are highly engaged in the text chat and as you ensure that all questions are answered when you are done explaining a problem, I would conclude that they are making great progress.

Tutor · 3 mo. ago

You have created an excellent learning environment where students are very comfortable to ask questions and contribute to discussions. I love how you take the time to answer general questions and provide thoughtful advice before the session officially starts, and it's clear it is effective as learners are comfortable asking important questions about their future (EX: "How many APs should I take as a student-athlete?). Finally, I love how you always refer to learners by their first names AND thank them for contributing without fail. This is something I need to start doing in my sessions, well done!

Tutor · 3 mo. ago

thank you so much I love the explanations and all

Learner · 3 mo. ago

Dhruv, you did a really nice job in breaking down the problems into their minute details! I especially like how you give visual signs of important information. For example, when you were explaining the problem about the probability of selecting a lion student, you crossed out Badger, Longhorn, and Tiger as those were "distractors" from the important category which was Lion. You also boxed the 80 students datapoint, which was integral to the problem. On that same problem, I love how you broke down the definition of probability. You not only gave a definition of it (Events at scenario/total events), but you also gave different situations like marbles to illustrate how probability can be applied. Another good skill you showed was doing a problem in two different ways. During the explanation fort the ratio problem, you showed the colon representation and also the fraction representation. This can be very helpful is aiding the learner's visualization of the solving process. Something you could maybe add to your explanations are a review of common pitfalls people can fall into when doing those types of problems. This can reiterate your solution while also cautioning the student's on what not to do.

Tutor · 3 mo. ago

You did a good job engaging learners by asking questions and encouraging them to share their thoughts. For example, you asked if students understood your approach and invited questions. To take it to the next level, you could try incorporating more structured opportunities for students to actively problem-solve, like having them predict next steps or explain concepts to each other. Don't be afraid to pause more and give students time to think and respond. Keep up the great work in creating an interactive learning environment!

Tutor · 3 mo. ago

You demonstrated excellent preparation and content knowledge in this session. Your explanations of the problem-solving approaches, particularly using Desmos and algebraic methods, were clear and effective. You provided helpful visuals by sharing your screen and walking through the problem step-by-step. Your discussion of infinitely many solutions and how to identify them on graphs showed deep understanding. One area for potential improvement could be providing a quick recap or summary at the end to reinforce key takeaways. Overall though, great job explaining a complex topic in an accessible way!

It is clear that the learners answered many practice problems correctly. Your series is definitely benefiting the learners.

Tutor · 1 mo. ago

I liked how you welcomed the learner's by asking how everyone was doing. I think it would be a good idea if you greeted each learner by their name as they entered the chat. I liked how you referred to the learners' by their name throughout the session.

Learner · 2 mo. ago

Thank you for an amazing session! You are the right person to work with

Learner · 2 mo. ago

Yes, the learners did make progress which was evident by their ability to answer most of the questions by the end of the session.

Tutor · 2 mo. ago

The tutor made a comfortable learning environment throughout the session since they kept asking for the doubts learners may have, and was active in answering them as well.. Well done!

Tutor · 2 mo. ago

Thank you for this session! I loved how accepting you were of questions!

Learner · 2 mo. ago

I loved how you always built on the ideas students provided via messages when you explained the problem to the class. Furthermore, you always made sure to clarify their statements with questions to understand their thinking, which I thought was excellently done. You also made sure to check learner prerequisite knowledge before diving into each problem, which was great as well. Finally, you have created an environment where learners are comfortable to ask questions at any time when you are explaining problems and you will always answer them. Being able to do this with only chat communications is one of the most impressive things I have ever seen as a tutor.

Tutor · 3 mo. ago

You had a plan going into the session and executed it fantastically. I love how you could explain the concepts behind every question through your learners' thought processes in a way that ensured all learners could understand. Furthermore, I love how you always tried to explain a strategy or trick that would make the question easier and quicker to solve, such as when you explained how to shorten the FOIL method to solve question #20 (1:40:19). Well done!

Tutor · 3 mo. ago

Greater tutor!

Learner · 3 mo. ago

I like how he answers all questions before moving on.

Learner · 3 mo. ago

I love you patient you are and how you help anyone when a question is asked .

Learner · 3 mo. ago

There is evidence that learners made progress during the session. For example, Asher asked clarifying questions that showed they were processing the information and developing a deeper understanding. You addressed misconceptions and provided additional explanations when needed, so great job!!

Tutor · 3 mo. ago

You created a very comfortable and supportive learning environment. You reassured students that their questions were valid, saying things like "Don't ever feel dumb" and explaining that other students have similar questions. Your tone was patient and encouraging throughout. You also showed flexibility by taking breaks and adjusting the session timing to accommodate students' needs. Throughout reviewing your session I kept thinking of suggestions to improve, but you did such a great job so I honestly have nothing!

Tutor · 3 mo. ago

I joined the sessions super late but I was able to get a gist of the sessions. I have just turned in my first assessment (I had to pause to eat dinner) but I think I did okay. I hope to improve with your help!! I will attend your sessions from here on out.

Learner · 3 mo. ago

Teacher Dhruv is amazing! He explained the subject and guided the class in the best way as possible! Me and the other students could understand the subject, practice and learn a lot in the two hours that we had together! Very good and optimal methodology.

Learner · 3 mo. ago
