You first checked whether or not they had past experience with what you were working with, whether it was polynomial arithmetic or long division. You also let them choose whether they felt they were ready to move on, or they wanted more practice problems, which made the session very adaptive and interactive. I loved the teaching style you used, by first teaching them with a problem, and then just letting them do a couple more practice problems entirely on their own, which kept them engaged and allowed you to make sure they understood the material.
