Thank you

Nice job checking the learner's prior knowledge by asking questions such as "what do you know about substitution" and "what is substituting in general". You adapted to Mikayla's knowledge by explaining more about the substitution process (so when we substitute, instead of having 2 variables...) and by helping her with a great explanation of adding a positive to a negative when she struggled with them (the number line). Nice job asking her questions like "does that make sense" and "did you have any questions" to help make sure she understood the material. Good job asking the learner engaging questions when solving the problem (ex. "how would we find y", "what do you want our next step to be", "why [is -5 times -8 40]"). This is a great example of active learning! Keep it up!

Hey Sloka! You seem to have a great understanding of substitution. Your explanation of adding 15 to -25 was great, using the number line to demonstrate that was clever and seemed to help the learner. I like how you used the whiteboard/Canvas to tutor the learner, it is a nice visual. Great job!

This is a 1 on 1 QA session. The problems brought by the student were discussed. You explained the problems based on the feedback or questions from the student. It was nice tailored for the student. You answered all questions from the student with patience.

The session went well. The student felt comfortable to ask questions, and you have addressed these questions with patience. It was good there are a lot of discussions where you and the student interchanged ideas.
