Thank you for your patience and detailed explanation! You helped me a lot with this. By the way, just so you know, you messed up "than" and "then" in your comments =))

Thank you for this session; I enjoyed how helpful it was!

Learner · 21 days ago

Thanks for the Answers !The explanation Really clarifies My Understanding

Learner · 22 days ago

Using u^2 was super helpful!! I never would have thought of that myself, but I will absolutely be using that trick in future problems. Thanks for the tip!!

Thanks so much for helping! Appreciate it!

I admire your initiative to divert to Desmos to help actually teach the learner rather than just help them solve the AP Classroom problems. You not only leveraged Desmos' advanced graphing capabilities, but further annotated to show exactly what you were referencing. Furthermore, when you went back to problems to work through specific integrals and apply the lesson from Desmos into practice for infinite integrals, your notation was especially clear and articulate. Your neat handwriting, clear demarkation of each step, and changing of colors (specifically blue) helped differentiate various concepts (such as the u and du for u-substitution and other integration techniques).

Tutor · 26 days ago

The learner was asking their own questions (i.e., regarding which integration techniques would apply such as integration by parts or u-substitution) as you both worked through the problem together. As the tutor, Miles supported Bhavya by clarifying her understanding as necessary and answering any necessary questions. Towards the end, Bhavya's questions were more to request affirmation that she was on the right track rather than content-based questions, showing that her understanding evolved and improved under Miles' guidance. Bhavya also noted that she now understands how to solve the other problems at the end of the session.

I thought you did an excellent job explaining how to solve integration problems, and I thought your use of visuals in particular was great. Using desmos was very smart and gave the learner a great visual to help them understand what the functions looked like and what they were approaching. I also thought sketching a graph for ln|x| at the end was a great way to help the learner understand why the function would diverge. You went at a good pace and the learner responded very well to your explanations. No recommendations; great job!

Tutor · 26 days ago

Yes, the learner was able to solve challenging integration problems after your help.

Thank you so much for the help!! I struggle with precalc and your feedback was super nice and helpful

Learner · 1 mo. ago

Thank you so much for insights. I really appreciate it. You have given me some interesting points. :)

Learner · 6 mo. ago

I really appreciated your help, the step by step was easy to follow along! The application of the conversion factors alongside the variables of the problem were definitely where I got stuck, but your explanation really clarified things for me! Thank you so much, have a great day! :D

Thank you so much for making our sessions fun and understandable. You always help make the meetings feel less awkward and super productive. You always take time to help the people who are confused and always make sure to keep things light and not stressful at all. It was also awesome that you didn't assume we were stupid and very kindly explained if we got something wrong. 10/10 class would recommend

Learner · 8 mo. ago

Great

Learner · 8 mo. ago

Thanks for not making us feel stupid when we get stuff wrong

What we learned in precalc was that the graph shouldn’t show ANY pattern, like linear quadratic ect not just linear but TYSM for your input :)

You were also very adaptable with switching between screens from problems, Desmos, annotations, and whiteboards, clearly tailoring to the learners needs. There was a very nice balance between interaction between Miles and the learner, Bhavya. Miles did a great job balancing between asking Bhavya questions to check for her understanding / seeing where her mind was at in the problem solving process and teaching the applications of when different techniques work better. Miles defined nuances about integration of trigonometric functions such as secant clearly, in addition to distinguishing when to use u-substitution vs. trigonometric substitution vs. integrations by parts vs. partial fraction decomposition, amongst others. The notation of infinite integrals and flipping of signs was also explained well. Perhaps at the end of the session, you could have provided additional practice or resources where the learner could confirm their understanding. The problems that Bhavya brought to the session were certainly helpful to improving her understanding, but her mastery could have perhaps been further solidified with additional varied practice so that you could further understand the areas of her difficulty. Overall, though, you did a great job in tutoring Bhavya.

You did a particularly good job in creating a comfortable learning environment. Even though you worked with the learner before, you went to lengths to ensure you were pronouncing the learner's name properly, showcasing your attentiveness and dedication to your learners. By the end, Bhavya showed more confidence in approaching the problems and tackling them on her own, so it seems that your tutoring has improved Bhavya's confidence levels and understanding.

Tutor · 26 days ago

I thought you did a great job creating a respectful and comfortable learning environment. You were very approachable and encouraging, and the learner seemed very comfortable participating throughout the session. In particular, I thought you did a great job encouraging the learner while they struggled a bit solving the question with two e^x terms. I also like how you confirmed the pronunciation of the learner's name. No recommendations.

Tutor · 26 days ago

I thought it was great that you asked the learner about their prior knowledge with indefinite integrals. I also like how you asked the learner questions even while you were explaining concepts, like "what does this graph approach?" The learner seemed very engaged even when you were taking the lead on solving problems. The only thing I'd recommend is to consider taking more opportunities to have learners attempt problems after you "kickstart" them. For example, you did an excellent job showing the learner how to start the 1/lnx questions with u substitution. You proceeded to finish the problem checking in with them along the way, but it seemed like the learner may have been able to do it themselves after you showed them how to start. Overall, I thought you did a fantastic engaging the learner!

Miles helped me solve the problem perfectly! I understand exactly what to do next time

Learner · 6 mo. ago

Thank you for taking the time to answer my question, you explained it in detail and in a way that was easy to understand

Learner · 8 mo. ago

Thank you for all of the sessions! You are really good at making the environment friendly and safe, and I wasn't scared to answer questions like I usually am in school. I have already shown improvements from my last SAT to the practice test I did. One thing that I think would help me if I was a tutor for thing kind of thing would be to write down prior to the session, how to solve a certain type of problem. I would write what I would say so if I forget I could look at what I wrote and tell the "students". Overall, you were very helpful throughout the entire bootcamp! Thank you!
