Yash is one of the most intelligent people I’ve ever had the honor of conversing. Despite being younger than me, he’s much more wiser than me and I feel like I learn something new about life whenever I have a session with me. He cares for his learners and their education, and is extremely supportive of them. Yash is also quite enthusiastic and his energy is contagious. Even boring AP English Language comes to be fun to do when his presence. Thank you so much, Yash! I appreciate you much more than you can ever imagine. :)

Checks learner's prior knowledge: You began the session by asking the learner about the topic of her research paper and any instructions or guidelines provided by her teacher. This allowed you to gauge the learner's initial understanding and set the stage for the session. You further assessed her understanding by helping her to choose between mental health and students reading more, and then delving into her reasons for choosing the second option. Adapted to learner's unique needs: Even despite that technical difficulty, you adapted effectively to the Ashley's needs by switching to chat and closed captioning when faced with technical difficulties. You personalized the session based on the learner's interests and specific requirements for the research paper, and gave guidance and examples that aligned with her topic. Continuously Engages Learners: Despit that technical difficulty, I am super impressed with how you managed to keep her engaged. Throughout the session, you maintained engagement by asking questions, encouraging the learner to think critically about the topic, and asking for her input on various aspects of the research paper. You actively involved her in the process of coming up with arguments and counterarguments, and ensured she remained engaged despite the technical challenges. Confirms learner's progress: You frequently checked the learner's understanding and progress by asking her to confirm her ideas and providing feedback on her responses. Yash revisited key points and summarizes their discussion to ensure the learner is following along. He also suggested to her to save the chat and transcript for future reference, which helped reinforce the material covered during the session.

Discussion between the tutor and the learner was very back and forth and natural with discussion pouring in from both sides. The learner was very engaged in the lesson, and the tutor seemed to care about what the learner was saying. He offers feedback for every section of the learner's work.

You opened the session with a little bit of discussion on the learner's struggles and weaknesses in answering MCQs and FRQs, allowing you to adapt the session well to his needs! Great job with this :) Furthermore, the dynamic formed between yourself and the learner creates a strong environment for learning. Great job engaging the learner in active learning! Yash, you did an incredible job with your first few sessions here at Schoolhouse! Your strong understanding of AP Human is obvious through your excellent explanations and descriptions, where you helped Harish further his understanding of how to answer MCQ and FRQ questions. By working through Collegeboard problems together, you helped increase the learner's familiarity with AP-type questions. Not only were your explanations correct and well-thought-out, but you also provided background information and explanations as to why certain answers are correct or incorrect. Fantastic job! Your explanations were excellent in that they built off of the learner's prior knowledge, and bridged off of concepts that he was familiar with.

Thank you so much for going over my practice MCQ with me! You have no idea how helpful your explanations were! You also helped me a lot with the FRQ. I bet if you took the Exam, you would get a top score without even needing to try! Don't take this as an incentive to take the exam, you do you.

Right off the bat, you introduced yourself and established a friendly environment. I liked how you encouraged the learner, boosting her confidence about her ideas, which is key when working with Reading and Writing where you have to share a lot of vulnerable idas. The learner was super comfortable stating when she was confused as well as sharing her ideas because of the judgement-free environment. In general, you seem like a fantastic tutor. The vibe you give off is so welcoming, patient, kind, and insightful. Keep up the great work!

Hi Yash! Thanks for that note at the start, and your goofiness was greatly appreciated. Thankfully, they've given me access to both recordings :D I loved your use of examples to explain things (i.e. how you'd write a thesis for a different topic), effectively conveying the purpose behind writing a certain way. All of the tips you gave were spot on. You are SO articulate and break down ideas into simpler parts in a great way, defining vague words and demystifying complex concepts to make everything really clear and straightforward, which sure isn't easy for a subject like English. + I think many people would agree that no academic dishonesty was encouraged.
