About

This series consists of multiple piano lessons focused on helping you learn the different keys, scales, and songs that you can play with no previous experience. It is recommended that you have a piano or keyboard, but if not, there is a virtual keyboard that I will introduce to the class as well. From "Happy Birthday" to Beethoven's "Für Elise", this series will teach you how to play the piano with finesse.

Tutor Qualifications

I've played the piano for about 9 years and completed Level 6 NYSSMA, (the last level) in middle school. I've taken a multitude of private lessons from different teachers and helped my younger sisters with their piano playing as well.

✋ ATTENDANCE POLICY

You can pick and choose which lessons to attend, but if you are a complete beginner, it is recommended that you don't miss more than 2 sessions. Make sure to let me know if you will be missing a session.

Hi!😊 I'm a high school senior with a passion for adventure, teaching, and learning. I keep active with fencing, tennis, jogging, and hiking and expand my creativity by listening to music, writing stories, and creating digital art. I love exploring fantastical worlds through books and watching crime/legal/paranormal TV series. I strive for academic excellence, and I want to absorb as much information as I possibly can to share my knowledge with others!

We will be going over piano basics, such as the keys, counting methods, and correct fingering for scales and songs.

Other Topics

We will be learning how to play a simple version of "Happy Birthday", so you can celebrate a friend or family member's birthday while showing off your piano skills 😄. I will also go over any questions you might have.

Catchup

This session will involve catching up on any piano basics you might have missed or need more help with, memorizing the song "Happy Birthday", and playing a fun piano game based on your listening, reading, and piano skills.

We will be reviewing everything we've learned and playing a fun game that trains your ears. Afterward, you will write your own piano composition and present it.
